Prew School Advice

by admin

First, never wait until the day before to study for a test. I tried that a lot my freshman year and it showed in my grades. But eventually I came up with a few tricks to get me through classes I wasn’t having a little trouble in
- Start a study group (this helped a lot in my english and history classes)
- Use quizzes to study for tests ( you will see many of these questions again)
- Try to think of what the essay questions will be on a test and write down a few key point you could use in your essay
- Do your homework
- Review your notes from class when you get home
- Spend free time studying (like while you wait for the bus or for class to start)
- Sit towards the front (you don’t have to sit in the first row, but the closer you are the teacher the less likely you are going to get distracted)
- Get to know your teachers because if you are comfortable with them you won’t mind asking for help
- Have organized notebooks. Divide them up into sections such as notes, homework, handouts, etc. I use to divide mine up my chapters and then into the sections mentioned above
- highlight important information in handouts and notes
- read everything the teacher assigns
- And finally, get involved with an extracurricular activity that you love because you will get a chance to become more well rounded and many will require you to keep a certain G.P.A. This will keep you motivated to do better. High School goes by really fast so enjoy while you can. It went really fast for me.
GOOD LUCK :)
